In a meta-analysis that compared recreational runners to elite runners and sedentary individuals, it was found that the recreational runners had less incidence of hip and knee osteoarthritis (OA) in comparison to the other groups.

So no, recreational running is not “bad for your knees”. In fact, it may reduce your likelihood of developing OA.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Western University where she played on the Varsity Volleyball team and worked alongside the Women’s Soccer team as their Athletic Trainer.

She enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle with weight training, running, volleyball and spending time with her family and friends.
